What is Robotics & turkey (R&t)?

  • Annual international 3-day youth robotics conference to improve FIRST Lego League (FLL) team performance in upcoming qualifying tournaments.

  • Conference targets both rookie and experienced team members (4th-8th grade), coaches, parents, and sponsors.

What are R&t's goals?

  • Improve team performance in qualifying tournaments upcoming in a month or two.

  • Foster coopertition (cooperative competition).

  • Provide memorable experience that hooks students and parents to STEM careers and lifestyles.

  • Improve coaching capacity and capability.

How is R&t structured to accomplish its goals?

  • Increase learning on all aspects of FLL - robot performance, innovation project, robot design, core values.

  • Share information using interactive and novel presentation.

  • Build new relationships as the design will foster meeting and working with new people.

  • Provide instruction and tools for the participants to take back new knowledge to respective teams.

  • Provide prizes earned by participants that create memorable experiences.

What’s the cost of attending R&t?

The 2024 conference registration cost is $60/person by September 30 ($100 after), with separate transportation, lodging, and meal (TLM) cost of at least $1,020 per person double occupancy from New York City.  Jamaica-based participants will incur TLM cost of $250 per person double occupancy. Maximum of 3 adults in a room or 2 adults and 2 children up to 11 years old. Children under 6 years old stay free.

Students and parents that participate in our fundraiser(s) will qualify for a TLM subsidy.  Our 2024 fundraisers are on August 14 (in-person in NYC) and September 18 (virtual). Payment of the TLM subsidy will occur soon after proof of room and airfare booking is provided.
